The Cien Amigos Education Fund developed as part of Cien Amigos, an advocacy group founded in 2010 to promote mutually beneficial relations between California and Mexico. Along with economic development and trade, supporting the educational advancement of Mexican and Mexican descent students was one of the organization’s original goals. Over time however, it became clear that a separate organization focused on fundraising and support for students was needed. As a result, the Cien Amigos Education Fund was established in 2018.
The mission of the Cien Amigos Education Fund is to provide resources to help Latino students achieve their goals in higher education. In today’s social, political and economic environment, it is critical that all students, but especially those of Mexican and Mexican descent, be given every opportunity to succeed. By providing resources to worthy students, the road to success can be a little less difficult.
